Institute for Disability Studies
The IDS is federally funded and is housed at The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg.
The mission is to positively affect the lives of Mississippi citizens with developmental and other disabilities and their families across the life span and to work toward increasing their independence, productivity, and integration into their communities.

Mississippi AgrAbility Project
AgrAbility is a USDA-funded grant project awarded to select land-grant based Cooperative Extension Services that join with non-profit disability organizations in order to educate and assist agricultural workers with disabilities and their families.
The Mississippi AgrAbility Project partners are the Mississippi State University Extension Service, the T.K. Martin Center for Technology and Disability, Methodist Rehabilitation Center, the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services.

Mississippi Client Assistance Program
CAP is funded by a federal grant to the State of Mississippi to provide advocacy services for clients and client applicants of the Office of Vocational rehabilitation, Vocational Rehabilitation for the Blind, and the Independent Living programs.
All of these programs are a part of MDRS.

Mississippi Council on Developmental Disabilities
The CDD is an appointed coucil designed to support individuals with developmental disabilities, their families and the community in which they live.

Mississippi Deaf-Blind Project
The Deaf-Blind Project, at the University of Southern Mississippi, is a federally funded project to provide technical assistance to individuals between the ages of birth and 21 years. Whether it is in the home, school, or agency setting, our staff can provide assistance and training to help make a better quality of life.

Office of Special Education, Mississippi Department of Education
The purpose of the OSE is to support local schools and districts in their efforts to provide effective educational programs to students with disabilities, ages 3-21, who are in need of special education and other services necessary to enable them to benefit from instruction as provided for in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and state law.

Project START (Success Through Assistive and Rehabilitative Technology) is the federally funded Tech Act Project of Mississippi. The lead agency for Project START is MDRS.

Rehabilitation Research and Training Center on Blindness and Low Vision
The mission of the federally funded RRTC, located at Mississippi State University, is to enhance employment and independent living outcomes for individuals who are blind or visually impaired through research, training, education, and dissemination.
